there seems to be some real confusion
December 8th, 2009 |Spiral fracture of the femur is something you can only get from riding on the road in the winter.
You can get all kinds of other injuries riding on all kinds of other surfaces during all kinds of other times of years. But riding on the road? In the winter?
SPIRAL FRACTURE
It happens.

There are several types of bone fracture, including:
Oblique – a fracture which goes at an angle to the axis, caused by riding on the velodrome in the spring
Comminuted – a fracture of many relatively small fragments, caused by riding on a dirt trail in the summer
Spiral – a fracture which runs around the axis of the bone, caused by riding on the road in the winter
Compound – a fracture (also called open) which breaks the skin, caused by having the Donimator ride over you at any time of year
