Winter Riding!

December 7th, 2009 | Posted by Smithers at 1:33 am in Cycling |

I had some winter cycling shoes and lobster mitts on order, ready to ride outside this winter!

Then I shit canned the whole thing.

Who am I kidding? I’m not riding outside unless it’s above freezing, ever.

Spiral fracture of the femur, I don’t want it.

Baby Jesus invented the Tacx I-Magic trainer for a reason.

@Steven: cold makes ice. ice makes bike fall down. fall down make fracture in leg.

this stuff does not happen on the trainer.

Sadly I can not afford such an “uber trainer” but yes… mounted the road bike to the Kurt Kinetic. Now just need to avoid those old naked Bob Roll commercials. :-)

@Smithers: you wouldn’t ride cyclocross in sub-freezing? ever?

We’re living in a pre-iced over world for another few hours, but it’s still a little cold to be enjoyable on the bike. For me, it’s my feet that can’t handle it.

Take it easy on the femurs.
