Jump in, the water is fine.

what country is this?

TPM:

Because he had my name and I had identified myself as the homeowner, I asked why he would need my date of birth. He told me I was under arrest, grabbed my right arm, twisted it behind me and threw me on the ground. Some of the 25 or so people who were still in attendance observed what was happening and started asking the deputy what was going on. My partner, Jane Stratton, asked him to please be careful as I had recently had right shoulder surgery. His response was to knock her to the ground. At this point, some of the guests attempted to come to my aid and to Ms. Stratton’s. Without warning the deputy started pepper spraying everyone, even those who were simply standing in the area. All of this happened in a matter of minutes.

A deputy needs to be fired.

Who is the bigger threat to our liberty, criminals or cops?

2009 Smithers MINNEAPOLIS Tour De France Pool – Now Open!

Monday, June 29th, 2009

Fun for everyone!

Now it your chance to impress the internet cycling community with your knowledge of professional cycling. It’s also your chance to prove what a 3rd rate hack you are in predicting the outcome of a grand tour.

Here are the rules:

– Entry in the pool opens Monday, June 29 2009

– Entry in the pool closes on Friday, July 3 2009 at 11:59pm Central Time

– All entries must be placed by e-mail to smithersmpls@gmail.com and the time stamp on the e-mail MUST show that it was received before the deadline of Friday, July 3 2009 at 11:59pm Central Time. NO EXCEPTIONS. Don’t wait until the last second, this is really not that important.

– Entries can be modified in any way up until the deadline of Friday, July 3 2009 at 11:59pm Central Time

– Entries can be accompanied by a nickname that will be used to publicly identify the entrant if the entrant does not want their name revealed

– Entries must include and will be scored as follows:

1st Place Final GC, 100 points
2nd Place Final GC, 50 points
3rd Place Final GC, 25 points

Green Points Jersey Final, 30 points
Mountains Jersey Final, 30 points
Team Final, 10 points

Stage 1 Winner, 10 points
Arcalis Stage 7 Winner, 5 points
Mont Ventoux Stage 20 Winner, 10 points
Champs-Elysées Stage 21 Winner, 20 points

Yellow Jersey on Rest Day July 13, 5 points
Yellow Jersey on Rest Day July 20, 5 points

– Separate riders must be chosen for the top three final positions

– Total number of points available: 300

– Entrant with the highest number of points at the finish of the Tour de France will win the pool! In the event of a tie the above listed order will determine the tie breaker. For example, if one entrant picked the 1st place correctly and the other picked the 2nd placed correctly but points are tied, the winner of the pool will be the one who picked 1st place correctly. If, after all tie breakers are used, the pool still ends in a tie then the winner will be determined by how clever a nickname they used for public identification.

- It is up to those entering the pool to correctly pick riders and teams that are actually starting the race. I am serious. I don’t have time to check your entries so do it right the first time. Check the start lists!

Study up, get those entries in and finalized by July 3 and good luck to all!

In the result of the 2009 Tour de France turning into a farce it will only be appropriate that the Smithers MINNEAPOLIS 2009 Tour de France pool also be turned into a farce. You have been warned!
