Armstrong for the Hour?

January 25th, 2009 | Posted by Smithers at 10:06 pm in Pro Cycling |

Maybe?

Sure, I bag on Armstrong, but if he went for the hour record that would be pretty awesome.

He’s already looking to bolster his legacy by racing the Giro d’Italia in 2009. Adding the hour record would cement his legacy in cycling for all time.

I hope he goes for it.

Not only that – but there’s substantiated rumor that he, Christian Vandevelde, George Hincapie and Taylor Phinney have been talking about putting an effort into team pursuit for the 2012 Olympics.

If Lance in his 40s signed up for the team pursuit my money would still be on the Brits.

I will say this for him though. He’s the second best stage racer on his team.

@Baba: Probably because you are usually putting extra characters in the source that don’t belong. To post images in the comments include this code between the <>:

@Bob Schwartz – Same here. It’d be cool to see all four of those guys on the track together but there’s no way they’re knocking off the Brits or the Kiwis. The All Blacks are looking good these days – Jesse Sergeant (who happens to be one of TP’s Livestrong U23 teammates) turned a 4:17 in qualifying in the Beijing WC a fortnight ago. That’s Wiggins territory…

today’s lance looks like a masters racer on the bike
