I might need to test it to see if it really is a douche-phone.

Shimano? Let’s not go crazy here.

It really is a douche phone. Hold on for the T-Mobile G1 that gets a day’s worth of battery life and you’re golden.

Of course it’s the pot calling the kettle black when a Campy fan uses the “douche” label.

I have two major issues with the iPhone, at least as sold in the US:

    1) it is locked. I do not want to hack a phone in order to use my Brit SIM on euro networks.

    2) it is locked to AT&T, without a doubt the worst company for customer service I have encountered in my almost 6 decades.

    not compatible with exchange service.

Sure it does besides the G1 can do anything you want. The only limits are imagination.

@Morgan: and the time and ability to write the program, neither of which I seem to have.

Chris, there is already a hack available for the G1 so you can use exchange server. The G1 is cheaper to buy and about $30 less a month to run. You can cut and paste with G1 and general web use is suppier to apple. I would take a 2nd look at the G1 before buying a douche phone.
