Open Book

There has been some wild speculation about what happened in regard to my training program in 2008. The success that I have had on the track as well as during the fall cyclocross season has led some to speculate that not everything has been on the up and up.

I can assure you that I did indeed pretty much sit on my ass all last winter and did not really start taking training at all seriously until July of this year.  I know, the incredible success that I have had on the cross bike this year defies belief, but I assure you that it is the case.

Never-the-less, I don’t expect that my word will be enough for the haters.

So, for the 2009 season, I am announcing today that my entire off season training program will be published in detail on this website.

All training sessions, all caloric expenditure, all caloric ingestion, all weight and body mass information. Everything will be at your disposal to prove that I am indeed on the level.

My goal is to prove, without any doubt, that when I get dropped from the Miss and Out race in 2009 it’s due to my program and not any unethical behavior on my part.

The program starts next month. Stay tuned.

Powerline:

Obama thinks he is a good talker, but he is often undisciplined when he speaks. He needs to understand that as President, his words will be scrutinized and will have impact whether he intends it or not. In this regard, President Bush is an excellent model; Obama should take a lesson from his example. Bush never gets sloppy when he is speaking publicly. He chooses his words with care and precision, which is why his style sometimes seems halting. In the eight years he has been President, it is remarkable how few gaffes or verbal blunders he has committed. If Obama doesn’t raise his standards, he will exceed Bush’s total before he is inaugurated.
