President Elect Obama

November 4th, 2008 | Posted by Smithers at 10:13 pm in Politics |

54 -55% of the popular vote, commanding electoral college victory, increasing the Democratic majorities in the House and Senate in the face of all those stunningly unbelievable f-ing idiots who called him a Muslim, an Arab, a terrorist, a non-citizen, a socialist, a radical, anti-American, the anti-christ.

A good day for optimism and democracy.

A bad day for hate, fear and incomprehensible ignorance.

SO happy to see Obama as our new prez! However, it totally sucks that it’s 2008, and the fact that he’s black STILL matters. We SHOULD be at the point that we don’t even notice the color of his skin-that all we notice and the only thing that matters are his POLICIES! I guess it’s one thing I took from Oregon that I’m proud of-I was lucky enough to spend most of my life with a hugely changing population (people from all over moving in and out of the state constantly). It was very cool that the people I knew and hung out with never noticed the color of a person’s skin. Damn good thing I didn’t take that transfer to Atlanta, Georgia! :-)
