Someone asked me to post a photo of my helmet after last Sunday’s crash. Here it is, you morbid freak… Disregard that mallet in the background, my wife left that out.

    That’s pretty nasty.

A couple of years back I rode to work past a construction site in the morning. During the day they dug a trench across the road to make a utility connection, filled it in, but didn’t light it. They would repave it the next day. This was just after daylight savings ended, so I came home in the dark expecting the road to still be there.

No, wait. Let me restate that. I came home in the dark expecting the road the STILL F***ING BE THERE!! There were no nearby street lights.

I hit the pavement lip on the far side of the trench and had a brief moment to think “WTF” while upside down before hitting the ground.

I had a headache for two days. But my helmet came out of it much better than yours, still in one piece but with a big dent. So you must have eaten it in pretty spectacular fashion. Shame no one got pictures.

OK, I have to be honest here. I took the mallet to that helmet. The helmet that I crashed on Sunday showed no sign of damage at all so it would not have made a very interesting photo.

@Smithers: Well some of us got the sarcasm. :-)

And as one of the morbid people asking to see it a simple, no it didn’t implode like masiguy’s helmet, would have sufficed.

At least your anger issues are no longer repressed. :-D

I still think it’s a shame no one got pictures.
