reigning reining it in? or just playing decoy?

Is McCain, aware of the negative press doing him more harm than good, attempting to get the mob his own campaign created back under control?

“I respect Sen. Obama and his accomplishments.” People booed at the mention of his name. McCain, visibly angry, stopped them: “I want EVERYONE to be respectful, and lets make sure we are.”

And then later, again, someone dangled a great big piece of low-hanging fruit in front of McCain: “I’m scared to bring up my child in a world where Barack Obama is president.”

McCain replies, “Well, I don’t want him to be president, either. I wouldn’t be running if I did. But,” and he pauses for emphasis, “you don’t have to be scared to have him be President of the United States.” A round of boos.

And he snaps back: “Well, obviously I think I’d be better. ”

…he just snatched the microphone out the hands of a woman who began her question with, “I’m scared of Barack Obama… he’s an Arab terrorist…”

“No, no ma’am,” he interrupted. “He’s a decent family man with whom I happen to have some disagreements.”

Or is he simply trying to be the good cop to Palin’s bad cop?

NRO:

That’s just one reason why—not to mention what I expect to be continuing growth in 2008— I believe the economic pendulum will soon swing in favor of the GOP.

There’s no recession coming. The pessimistas were wrong. It’s not going to happen. At a bare minimum, we are looking at Goldilocks 2.0. (And that’s a minimum). Goldilocks is alive and well. The Bush boom is alive and well. It’s finishing up its sixth consecutive year with more to come. Yes, it’s still the greatest story never told.

What a relief. Thanks Kudlow…you frickin’ idiot.

I see lots of those TRP cross cantilevers out there.

With the muddy race conditions recently I am sure that there are lots of worn brake pads around.

You can spend $30 on a pair of replacement TRP pads.

Or, you can spend $8.25 on a pair of Kool-Stop Dura-Ace/Ultegra Replacement Brake Pad inserts.

Give your local bike shop QBP part # BR2155 (black, normal conditions) or #BR2157 (salmon, extreme wet conditions) if the shop does not have them in stock.

I tested the fit last night, it’s perfect.
