Bike tweak

Still working on the brake set up. Bailed on the Gore cables for brakes, too much friction for some reason. Kept them on the derailleurs as that’s where they will be needed most. Raised the front hanger in order to back off the power in the hope of avoiding chatter. Also went back to the TRP pads as the Swisstop pads seemed to be wearing fast, just what Little Frye warned me would happen.

I’ve had my commuter on cantis for a year and a half and still haven’t dialed it in. Yokes, transverse cables, colon hydrotherapy, you name it, it’s either soft-and-you-just-have-to-deal-with it, or stiff, squealy, and chattery. I might just give up and get a couple Travel Agents.

Looks about right to me. I swapped the stock pads for KoolStop black. Between that and the AlphaQ fork there’s no chatter.

I confess, even though they’re “euro” I’m not thrilled with the trps. I mean, they’re BRAKES, right ? I haven’t been able to dial them in. And then, after riding the cx bike for awhile, I switch to the road bike.. and whoa! I was damn close to over-the-bars at the end of the block last sunday am.
