Cyclocross Practice Race this weekend

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

9am Saturday Sunday morning at a location to be disclosed only to those interested.

Let me know if you are game.

If I get a thousand people interested I may invite by lottery to keep the numbers under control since this will be an outlaw event.

Edit - Saturday is not going to work.

open debate

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

I’ve said this before, I don’t edit comments.

If you take the time to comment on my post I respect you enough to leave your comment intact, whether I agree with your comment or not.

Don’t ask me to delete someone’s comment, I won’t do it. They took the time to write and I appreciate that.

Don’t ask me to delete your comment, I won’t do it. You stuck your own foot in your mouth and you get to live with it, just like I do every time I post on this site.

If you spend enough time on my site or reading the comments you are going to come across something that you really don’t care for. It’s inevitable. My hope is that, if you care to respond, you will do so without personal attacks or name calling. The inability to argue your point without attempting to insult those you disagree with says more about your intellect than it does about your opponent.

That being said, if you choose this course I am not going to stop or edit you.

speech to nowhere

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

Palin did just fine, the base loved it I am sure.

But will a smug and sarcastic speech laden with lies and distortions convince independent and moderate voters to choose McCain/Palin?

An advocate for special needs kids? She cut funding for schools for special needs kids by 62%.

"Thanks, but no thanks" on the Bridge to Nowhere? She ran her campaign for governor in support of the bridge and only withdrew her support once Congress removed the requirement that the funds be used to build the bridge. She did keep the money however.

She accused Obama of having no accomplishments as a senator. That’s a lie.

She accused Obama of being against increased energy production. Another lie.

Palin is fulfilling her role as the GOP attack dog. It’s an open question as to whether anyone outside those who were already planning on voting for McCain are interested in the attacks.

My personal opinion: If McCain picked Palin to shore up the conservative base this late in the game then his campaign is probably in pretty deep trouble. The general view is that this election will be decided by moderate voters and I don’t think they will be comfortable with McCain’s decision.
