I pity the fool that bikes tonight.

Wish I could be there… stuck in KS… sigh.

So stoopid question. What’s the average speed of the tuff guy ride (in a range, flats to hills). Just curious if I could keep up at all.

We don’t actually ride. We just go to Punch Pizza and get our drink on, talking about the really cool and uber-expensive cycling gear we have.

    Ha ha Jim R.

No, seriously, it’s about one thousand miles per hour.

Well if it’s whan jim r decribes. I’m in. I love to talk about the overpriced Pearl Izumi gear I have. :-P

And hey I own a pari of Tifosi…

O.K. so I’ll assume y’all are in the 28 to 30 mph range then?

If you can’t keep up you can usually join someone (me) off the back once things have picked up on CR24. But not tonight; tonight I battle my chores.

I’m curious about an actual speed. I remember being younger and much more in shape, zipping along at the back of the pack at around 22-24mph. Let me know how much of a wimp I am by giving me a real speed. :^)

Maybe a wimp ride in addition to the Tuff ride? My wimp ride will be the ride home, methinks.

the one time i managed to do the ride and finish without being dropped, i think the avg. speed was around 23.5 and that includes the parade out and then back, before everyone goes nutz-o on the loop. that was early in the season. i assume it’s faster now? tuesday’s suck for me — otherwise i’d totally be there… getting dropped.

You’d have at least one person behind you if I came, T3.

I remember that. You guys dropped me when I got a nail in my rear tire. I then had to ride home, alone, from Wayzata or Excelsior, or whatever that town with the Caribou is, in the dark, going past lakes with ice on them, with a 30 MPH wind blowing the ice air on me while having neither arm or leg warmers, or a jacket…

    Assholes

I remember that too. As soon as you were dropped we all stopped at the Caribou, sat around and drank coffee.
