I’d have to guess (speaking as an engineer) that hybrid race cars will save about as much fuel as….say that hybrid Lexus that gets about the same mileage as my half ton GMC pickup. Most of the energy that fuels them goes into wind and rolling resistance, not brakes…..

….maybe the real reason that they’re doing this is that they need yet another system to break down on the racetrack because the F1 cars are getting too reliable. :^)

I watched this clip when the Top Gear episode first came out…and it still makes my heart beat faster. F1 cars put all other machines to shame.

For “additonal power” or as alternative power? If it’s “additional” instead of alternative, does that mean that no fuel will actually be conserved?
