That’s all folks
Saturday, December 29th, 2007Round about four years ago I started blogging. Blogs were new to me at the time and I was curious to give it a try. The 2004 election was fast approaching and I made a lot of political posts during the build up to November. I was totally depressed regarding the outcome of the election for a few months and lost the motivation to keep blogging. In the spring of 2005 I began to write again but this time it was more about cycling and my general point of view regarding life. Since that time I have experienced the birth of my son and the birth of my daughter and now, it appears, the birth of a new job.
I have been kicking around the idea of discontinuing the blog for some time now. I thought about keeping it on and just blogging less, or just keeping a photo blog. But I know that if I kept this site going I would not be able to resist the obsession to feed the beast. It’s better for me to call it done and walk away.
I’ve enjoyed the last four years immensely and I am really happy that I had this outlet for my thoughts. But it’s time to move on. There are numerous other projects, personal and professional, that I need to focus on for the next few years. Plus I think (dis) told me once that all the really cool dudes stopped blogging a long time ago. I am always trying to keep up with what the really cool dudes are doing. It’s pretty pathetic, but I try.
Anyway, thanks to all who read for the past 4 years. Sorry to leave you in the lurch, I’m sure you will find something else to keep you occupied during the day. I recommend my friends at Bike Throw for local cycling stuff.
Have a great 2008. See you on the boards.
