X-Mas tree

This is why I don’t allow a real tree in the house. This is what my wife is like when we have a real tree.

“Pick up all that shit…”

    Why do you hate trees?

I’ve got a real tree and it kicks ass.

My wife lobbies for a faker each year but I won’t hear of it. I’ve noticed her argument gets more half-hearted as time goes by. (I’m winning!)

The biggest mess is the explosion of needles when you yank it out the door at the end of the season. My strategy is to clip off all the big limbs with pruning shears and bag them in the house. Then, when the tree fits out the door without touching I pull it out. It looks a little sad then, though.

When I was a kid we’d drag it out into the driveway and light ‘er up. That was the kind of fun you can only have in the country. (Or in the city - once.)

Honey, if you’re going to do drag, at least buy a tube of lipstick and some nail polish!
