Bike Throw

December 4th, 2007 | Posted by Smithers at 10:26 am in Local Cycling |

Homme, Rookie and their team are really doing some great work on their site.

Over the weekend they posted a part one history of the Minneapolis Bicycle Racing Club, otherwise known as the Flanders Racing Team. Really great stuff. I hope that they will continue this project with actual interviews of the founders of the team and expand this series to cover other long time Minnesota teams such as the Gopher Wheelmen, SPBRC, Loon State, Birchwood and SpeedFix Racing.

Bike Throw is rapidly becoming an invaluable source for local cycling lore and legend. Great work gents.

i’m pretty sure btdc can’t discuss speedstick racing anymore, at the insistence of speedstick.

but, look for lots of great write ups in the future on all of the other local teams, races, and culture we have supporting bike racing here in MN!

“when Jim Flanders handed me exactly what I was looking for, “History of the MBRC” which was written for a club newsletter a few years back. ”
