Let’s just wait until they pay their outstanding debt and actually get their ProTour license.

For climbing, though? RED may be light, but I’d go nuts with a shifter that turns my desperate, tentative clicks to see if there’s a bigger cog turned into an upshift. Ouch.

    Champs,

Have you ever ridden Doubletap shifting? (Because it’s obvious you have not)

    chris,
they are riding Trek. last I heard they were also going to use Look pedals & bontrager wheels (not sram-zipps)

It’s all about personal preference and adjustments, of course, but I have some limited play with DoubleTap, and did not feel like I’d be entirely comfortable with it in the situation I described. Lennard Zinn seems to share that sentiment.

Shift, when you’re really, truly at the end of your rope, to a higher gear.

That’s confirmation as far as I am concerned.

SRAM has reinventing the integrated shift mechanism.
Reading reviews and riding in a parking lot does it no justice to spending quality time on it out on the roads.
Its kinda like the cars salesman that only lets you test drive it around the block.
I was a shimano fanatic for years.
my cross bike still has DA 10 sp, and I loath going to it. SRAM force is excellent, RED is FANTASTIC. In my opinion, it makes DA look archaic.

If you initiate a down shift tap (it is a longer stroke) you WILL NOT get an up shift with SRAM, even if you are in already in your lightest cassette cog you WILL NOT get a heavier gear.
