State Cross Champs

I picked Bergman to win and he got second place. I think he could have won if he had not crashed 3 times. None-the-less, Doug Swanson was the fastest rider of the day and a deserving winner.

The course was awesome, very spectator friendly and appeared fast. I know that some were nonplussed regarding the brief amount of time spent in the woods. But cross is not MTB and extensive use of single track is not appropriate for cyclocross races. Hey, at least they hit the stairs. All the credit to those who designed the course, very nice work.

Some dude in a WCCO-TV jacket was at the top of the course offering whiskey hand-ups but I did not see any coverage of it on the teevee last night.

A few people asked me why I was not racing yesterday. The answer is because I weigh two hundred pounds. Cyclocross is a sport for the lean. Track racing is a sport for the énorme.
