Holy Joe

MSNBC:

Lieberman acknowledged Tuesday that some senators don’t trust Bush, but said, “At some point, we’ve got to get over this distrust and partisanship.”

God I hate Joe Lieberman.

Islamic Extremism

Friday, November 16th, 2007

Come on.

Islamic extremism, a bigger threat than the Nazis?

At its height the fascists had direct control over more than 25 countries including powerhouse nations such as Germany, Japan, China, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Yugoslavia. They had natural resources, they had manufacturing, they had armies.

Islamic extremists? What do they have?

A country? I don’t see Al Qaeda running much of anything anymore. Even when they did was Afghanistan much of a threat? I don’t think so.

If you care to categorize some middle east countries as extremist look who you are dealing with. Iran? Syria? Who are they going to invade? I don’t see the Syrian marching on Paris or Chicago anytime soon. Yea, maybe some cell gets together and detonates a bomb in Tel Aviv. It’s for sure that if the act is traced back to a sponsor country you can forget about that country ever being a threat to anyone again. I doubt it’s going to be an ongoing problem.

Resources? Can any of these countries pump that black crap out of the ground without the western infrastructure? If so, who is going to buy it? The middle east isn’t going to use that much oil. Closing the petrol market is going to hurt them as bad as it hurts us. It’s not going to happen.

Armies? Please.

So why are some of us so intent on pissing our pants over here worrying about the collapse of western civilization?

Honestly, in the global scheme of things, is not Islamic extremism nothing more than a nuisance?
