Seems like that elephant has kind of a wide stance.
“Where hacks come to spew nonsense” - B2B
I have tried a couple of online services to help increase my productivity at work. They are both free.
The first is Jott. By registering with Jott you can phone their toll free number and leave yourself a voice message which is then digitally transcribed into text and sent to your e-mail box. This is great if you are on the move, like in a car, and have no way to write down or text in the information that you want to keep track of. I have been using this service extensively for over a month and rely on it to help me keep track of things that would normally slip through my fingers. The transcribe tool can be hit or miss sometimes but you can always listen to the voice mail message directly and pick up what you were trying to say if there is any confusion. Using Jott’s website you can register other people that you may want to leave messages for, create groups of people and leave them all one message at the same time, or integrate a web application like a blog and create audio and text posts. I recommend this service to anyone who wants to increase their productivity while on the road.
The second is Callwave Mobile Visual Voicemail. With this service you can replace your existing mobile voicemail service with Callwave which will transcribe voicemail messages and send them to you by IM and/or e-mail. This allows you immediately see the nature of the voicemail message as soon as it has been left and help you prioritize which messages you deal with first. You can also control your voicemail box via the Callwave website. Really great stuff…if it worked. I set it all up Friday night and tested it out. Worked fine. Then at some point over the weekend my Callwave account was deleted and my voicemail was no longer accessible to those calling me. I was stuck without mobile phone service all this morning and no one had a way to leave me a message. Not good. It was not until I got back home and reset my T Mobile voicemail service that callers could once again leave me a message. It’s a good idea, obviously just needs some work in the execution of the application.
Movin’ on…
