Some dumb ass was spraying his water bottle on this concrete corner trying to cause a crash in the men’s race.
He was promptly escorted away from the race. By the reaction of the crowd he’s lucky he was not executed on the spot.

Pure sensationalism. Smithers- you ought to know better.
I was there and witnessed the whole thing. Maybe the guy should not have sprayed water on a friend of his (some of which- maybe 4oz- got on the course), but I can tell you it was blown WAAAAY out of proportion by some fake cop flashing his fake badge while threatening to fight the guy. I personally thought the reaction of the fake cop with little mans syndrome, was way more egregious that the original offense.

The water sprayer was a guy I know and he is a cyclocross race promoter. He should have 100% known better. Once he was escorted out of the area his buddy then kicked the half full water bottle back on to the race course. This resulted in another huge bruhaha that resulted in the buddy getting kicked out as well.
Not a lot of good judgment being shown that night. Except by me. I ate 4 burritos but drank zero beers.
I dont know where that came from?!? Wierd. No water bottle was kicked onto the course. I saw someone kick a paperplate (one left by somebody on the ground). The guy (or “buddy” as you call him) was in no way related to the original water thrower. That is when the ‘bruhaha’ started. the water thrower, and the paper plate kicker did not know each other. the kicker was responding to the thrower getting tossed, and he got tossed himself. Hard to believe someone showed poor judgement when liquored up on free beer
Doesn’t matter in the end…nobody got hurt. It’s really a non-story being blown out of proportion. I am done talking about it. Let’s all ride and get along.

I am not sure who is blowing it out of proportion. I posted this a week ago and no one said a thing about it until now. I was done talking about it the moment after I posted it.
