All this talk about cyclocross (obviously designed to inflame) has me thinking about running. Specifically, that I haven’t been (I only run Fall/Winter) and that I want to start soon. As soon as the humidity’s gone.
The way this always works is I strap on the running shoes, start jogging slowly but feel great. I have cardio fitness. I run faster. I run far. Somewhere around a couple miles I notice that my thighs are feeling sore as I run. Guess it’s a little late to back off now, eh? Now I know I’m going to be sore for 4 days or so. Next time I ride I’ll feel like junk, too.
The first run is called the fool’s run. Fit from cycling, run too hard, pay big time.
Running and riding don’t mix, right? WRONG!!!!!! I just need to tough it out and acclimate. CYCLOCROSS BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cadel took 2:43 out of Contador in the 40.7km time trial at this years Dauphiné Libéré. Contador cut that margin in half in the first time trial of this years Tour. Evans will beat Contador tomorrow. Will he put enough time into him to take over the jersey?
I’ve bet on it! Should make for an exciting day of racing and I think a win by an acknowledged clean rider like Evans can salvage this Tour de France.
