Rest Day Wrap up

Monday, July 16th, 2007

Amazing under performers of the Tour so far:

Valverde – As Skibby sez, riding like a masters racer
Evans – No excitement so far
Sastre – Mr. Invisible
Leipheimer – Waiting for an attack, waiting…
Dekker – The future looks dim

But the battle for longest name of the Tour is heating up:

Juan Jose Cobo Acebo, long
Inigo Landaluze Intxaurraga, longer
José Ivan Gutierrez Palacios, not longest
Sergio Miguel Moreira Paulinho, getting closer
Francisco José Ventoso Alberdi, almost there

Francisco Javier Vila Errandonea, we have a winner!

His nickname is “Patxi”. People confuse him with local masters racer Snide-Dog when Snide forgets to shave his lame jazz spot. He’s been a pro since 2001 and wins every other year or so, kind of like Snide…hey…didn’t I overhear ScottERob call Snide “Patsy” after the State Crit last month? Patxi is really into lettura and if you read Snide’s blog you know that Snide is all over that lettura shit.

Holy crap, I thought Snide was racing SuperWeek! I think he’s in the Tour dee France!

Go Patsy-Snide-Dog!

Pizza Man

Tip of the day, don’t ask the pizza delivery man technical questions about their company website.

They don’t know, they don’t care.

Iraq

Monday, July 16th, 2007

It’s impossible to solve the problems in Iraq without a political solution of the Iraqis own making.

The Iraqis are making no progress regarding a political solution. Quite the contrary, the Iraqi parliament has chosen to take the month of August off. I doubt that they will be off vacationing on the Delaware coast, as I will be doing next week, but it sure is bad PR.

We can’t solve the problem of Iraq with the US military. They don’t seem to want to solve their problems for themselves. So why are we still there?
