Track Night Wrap Up!
June 29th, 2007 |I was not there, so I don’t have any first hand info, but it sounds like it was Eat Shit Thursday at the track last night.
The Old Man of the Track hurt his shoulder, Super-Rookie is all sore and bruised, other are missing decent amounts of the largest organ of the human body. Sorry to hear it. It appears Baby Smithers picked a good night to keep her dad at home.
It’s too bad that crashing happens, but I am already tired of hearing comments about the track being unsafe. It’s not unsafe, it’s very safe. But when people make mistakes things go wrong. I tell you that it’s a lot less likely that a crash will happen on the track when someone screws up versus a screw up on the road.
I don’t expect that the events of last night will keep any of the regulars away. Those of you that are considering the track should not be dissuaded from giving it a try. I have been racing on the track since 1998 and I have only gone down once in all that time.
How many times have I crashed on the road since 1998? I don’t even want to think about it.
