From the Official Website of the Multi-National Force:
Soldiers kill insurgent and seize deadly weapon
Finally! We killed a guy AND we got his gun too!
Turning a corner! Last throes! All that kind of crap!
(spell check thanks to CXSteven!)

Made it last night and scored a home run with the family food fans. This stuff is fantastic as left overs the next day, if there are any left overs the next day.
Mama’s recipe with a few alterations:
1/2# hamburger
1/2# hot Italian sausage
2 cloves crushed garlic
Brown the above and then add…
8oz tomato sauce
10.5oz tomato puree
1–1/2t salt
1/4t pepper
1/2t oregano
Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
Cook lasagna noodles.
Mix two eggs with 16oz large curd cottage cheese.
Fill dish with alternate layers of noodles, sliced mozzarella cheese, sliced Velveeta cheese, cottage cheese/egg mix, tomato/meat mix, grated Parmesan cheese. (3 layers)
Bake @ 375° for 40 minutes and cool for 15 minutes before serving.
Enjoy!

You saw the beautiful beginning, here is the ugly finish.

Phanna schools us all with an attack on the back straight. He would not be challenged for the balance of the race.

See ya dude, nice gap. The race is on for second place.

The National Champion leads Winger and Crosby with The Man in Black, The Puma and BD in the second group followed by Mehus.

One lap to go. It’s pretty much game over for The Puma.
Final result: Phanna, The National Champion, Winger, Crosby, BD, The Puma, The Man in Black and Mehus. It was at this point that I was wishing that I had not left my gear bag at home…
Thanks again JB!
I took the photo below from my superfan site. I don’t know who took it so I can’t give them credit for it.

It’s the Great Wall of Skibby.
Keirin is not just a physical game, it’s also a mental game. Here big Dave and The Puma are working on psyche-out by ignoring each other during the 1st heat. Once riders roll up onto the surface of the track all the humor and small talk go out the window. It’s all serious bidness. Good thing that Skibby was standing between Dave and I because if I would have looked over and seen that guy next to me I would have been frightened away.

Photos thanks to JB!

Warming up and congratulating Hollywood for his recent engagement. See how large I am? Hollywood kept his distance because I looked hungry.

Super Rookie helps me get ready for the final keirin match. I used toe straps. They are kind of a pain to get into but they really help with the standing start.

I drew the (un) lucky #1 inside starting spot. To my right: The Man in Black, Phanna, BD, Crosby (hidden), Winger, The National Champion and Mehus. My nose was itchy. Me and The Man in Black have the same brand gloves, his are naturally black.

The National Champion is ready for his photo. Winger is concentrating on a good start.

Riders ready, waiting for Bob to come around with the moto. The National Champion is still ready for his photo and now Winger is also ready for his photo. Everyone else is ready to race bike. Super Rookie gives me some last minute advice.

OK, no more screwing around. The gun is up, BANG. Wait for me Bob…

I need to work on my standing start. 3 guys beat me off the line. I also need to work on my finish. All the stuff in the middle seems to be ok.

(dis) pencer has been trying to gin up some interest in a new nickname for me.
Last Thursday night he told me that my new track bike looked like a puma ready to strike. I told him that it was too bad that the puma was being ridden by a hippo. So now he is calling me “The Puma”.
I hate it.
Oh well. If it sticks it sticks, there is nothing I can do about it. I am firmly of the belief that one cannot give ones self a nickname. It would really bug me if I had to change the name of this site to “The Minneapolis Puma” or some such thing. But, as is my life motto, whatever dude.
Here is what pumas eat:

The lowly capybara.
Here is what The Minneapolis Puma eats:

The lowly Starbucks pumpkin loaf.

Mrs. Ray took more snappies at the track Saturday night.
It’s like I don’t even exist…
