no news is what?
Monday, May 7th, 2007OK, posting might be on the lean side this week.
Things are happening. I will know in a week if they are good things or bad things.
Until then, forgive the lack of the usual posting frequency.

That’s the problem with incompetence. It compounds catastrophe.
So 75% of the women that I helped at the Nature Valley Grand Prix last year really seem to be kicking some ass this year.
Martina won the Santa Rosa Criterium and Taitt finished 3rd. Taitt then went on to win the Queen of the Mountains classification in the Cat’s Hill Criterium and Courtenay finished 3rd overall in the race. Martina finished just behind Court in 4th. They must have really paid attention when I gave them all my sage advice while they were in town last year. (like “always wear a pair of new socks for every race” and “remember, all you need to do is be the first one across the finish line”)
It appears that they have the NVGP back on their calendar in 2007 so all their fans here in the Twin Cities may get to see them race again this year. They were kind of burned out and had low moral when they were in town last year. For 2007 they are on a new team and they all seem to be dating some dude named “Roman” (?) so it appears that things are now going their way.
So hopefully we will see them in June. Go out and cheer for Team Value Act Capital Team. They are doing very well despite the serious downgrade in equipment they had to accept from 2006 to 2007.
Giro d’Italia leader Ivan Basso said that he has never had anything to do with Fuentes.
“I found myself in the centre of attention for something I have nothing to do with. To me it’s embarrassing to face the television cameras. I’m sure I’ll get out of this as I’m innocent. I’ve lived through worst times in my life. Two years ago I was at the Tour knowing that my mother was dying of cancer - this is nothing compared to that. I’m sure that I will get out of this with my head held high. I’ll soon come back to race and to win”
According to an official statement released by the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) on Monday, Ivan Basso has admitted to involvement in the Operación Puerto affair, and has agreed to cooperate with the CONI antidoping prosecutor. “The anti-doping prosecutor’s office has heard Ivan Basso again today, who has largely confessed his responsibilities in the Puerto affair”, the statement read.
Watch the dominoes fall…
When a pro gets busted for doping and emphatically states “I did not do it!” you can blame Ivan Basso, and his ilk, for my utter and complete skepticism.
Do you guys remember who played Joe the Policeman in the “What’s going down?” episode of That’s My Mamma!?
