Race picks
April 9th, 2007 |SuperRookie misinterpreted my comment as snark. He would have normally been right, but this time I was serious.
If you pick a guy to win a major classic and he finishes in the top 10 I think you owe yourself a pat on the back for your familiarity of the sport. These races are so dynamic that anything can happen and most of the time any of these top ten finishers could have won at crunch time.
Take the Tour of Flanders, it would have been really easy to pick Boonen to win as he had done the past two years. His result? 12th. Boonen was not the best choice as he has been struggling most of the spring trying to put together a good result.
I made it easy on myself by only picking a winner. The fact that SR picked two guys that finished in the top two displays a pretty impressive knowledge of the sport.
