“The” ride
Wednesday, March 21st, 2007It was my first ride outside in 4 months. I’ll post route details once I find a high speed connection to the internets but suffice it to say that I rode though all of Masi Guy’s old hang outs.
My impressions after 4 hours on the velo:
- My ass hurts
- My back hurts
- My feets hurts
- My hands hurts
- My neck hurts
I would have thought riding indoors all winter would have set me up better for the season opener. Guess not.
Other comments:
- ISIS drive sucks. I thnk my left side crank arm is about to fall off.
- I feel taller riding outside than I do in the basement.
- My new gloves were very good at keeping my hands from falling asleep. But my hands still gots tired.
- My new shoes were not very good at keeping my feet from falling asleep.
- I went through 5 big bottles of water, 1 Power Bar, 2 goo packs, 1 pack of those little jello-type energy things. Add to that a recovery shake and now I feel like I am going to start hurling again.
- It sure is nice to ride in 80ー temps.
I’ll probably ride short tomorrow to recover. Don’t want to over do it! I am lazy after all.

A short tale from a suburb of Mobile AL
Wednesday, March 21st, 2007My wife’s parents have a neighbor with a Maserati that does 185.
Guess what happened?
Lucky he’s sane after all he’s been through.

Business Cleavage
Wednesday, March 21st, 2007I noticed a woman at the aiport gate with the obligatory laptop and cell phone, working away while waiting for her flight. She was obviously some kind of executive, barking orders into her phone and tapping away e-mails.
What I noticed about her, as it was hard to miss, was the monster clevage she had on display. I had no problem with that as a fellow aiport traveler looking to pass away some time, but I wonder about the effect of this in the business world.
How do other women feel in a professional situation when “faced” with a boozy show? Do men in the office take her seriously? Should anyone really be bothered if she is proud of her assets? Is there an equivalent attire for men? Is this attire more appropriate in some firms over others?
I’m curious as to your opinion.
(no, I did not take a picture. sorry.)
