Baby Smithers picked up an ear infection last week and has been on omoxicillian since last Friday. He has been on this anti-biotic in the past without much side effect. But this time has been really something special.
For the past 5 days he has woken up in the morning with savage diarrhea that had soaked through both his pajamas and his sleep sack. He does not seem to be particularly bothered by it as he has still been getting in his normal 12 hours of sleep each night. But each morning I unzip the sleep sack and am greeted by a full blown EPA Superfund site. Liquefied poo seeping out of his diaper, poo running down his legs and collecting in the feet of his pj’s, poo running up his abdomen and back, poo every place. It’s horrific. Plus it’s cold poo, so I know it’s been in there a good long time. He doesn’t care, he just sleeps right through it and makes no complaints once he’s awake. He just laughs at me while I try and clean him up.
He’s also required numerous outfit changes each day at his day care school. But none of it really seems to phase him in the slightest. He seems to be the most easy going little kid that I have ever seen. It’s great!
All of this absolutely terrifies me when I think about the little Baby Smithers yet to come. I can’t help but worry that little sister is going to sleep less than 3 hours a night and then complain about everything once awake.

Anyone been outside today?
Since I work at home I don’t normally partake in such activities until after St. Pat’s Day.
Boy, it’s sure a nice day today!

In the US Navy, the captain is ultimately responsible for the safety and security of his ship. One strike, he’s out. There is no room for honest mistakes or simple neglect. If his ship is incapacitated due to attack or accident he will never command another ship again. It’s a harsh system but it serves to assure that the captain will take his responsibility seriously 100% of the time.
Despite there being evidence that Iraq was not the threat that the Bush Administration made it to be, the Joint Resolution to Authorize the Use of United States Armed Forces Against Iraq passed the House of Representatives (296–133) on October 10 2002 and the Senate the very next day (77–23).
Here we are, four and a half years later, still tied up in this debacle.
I’m sorry to say it, but I honestly think that those in the Bush Administration, as well as those in the House and Senate, should be disqualified from running for federal political office again. A screw up this massive should have severe consequences. For those in Congress it’s simply not enough to point the finger at the President and say that he tricked you into voting for the resolution by withholding all pertinent intelligence regarding Iraq’s WMD capability. The information was there if you cared to look for it. Furthermore, to complain that the vote was being held during the height of a federal election cycle advances no point other than showing that your political career is more important than your conscience.
Regrets to Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, John Edwards, Chuck Hagel, John Kerry, Joe Lieberman, John McCain and Fred Thompson. You guys, and all the rest of those in Congress who supported action in Iraq, should go down with the ship. Serving in Congress is not just a rung on your career ladder, it’s purpose is to attend to the best interests of the citizens who sent you there. Sure, Mitt Romney, Rudy Giuliani, Barack Obama and Bill Richardson were not in Congress and did not have the make the choice you had to make in 2002. Such is life, I don’t feel at all bad for you. This war should be as heavy an anchor around your neck as it is for President Bush.

Graham asks the question.
If the clothes are conservatively designed, there are women that will want them to be sexier. If the colors are too dark, they may be seen as too masculine. If the choices are the same as for men, they will not be seen as special. A conundrum to be sure.
So what would you do? Play cycling product manager for a day. What’s your strategy to approach this market, whether you are male or female?
Phil answers.
This is not an isolated conversation, and as a result, my conclusion is that this particular market want the same bikes, the same clothing and the same accessories in the same colours as the men, just cut and designed for women.
So, as brand manager for a day, I’d like to design every womens high end product to look just like what the men are using.
I ain’t so sure. Do women cyclists want the same stuff that men use, but designed for women? Or do they want something special? Is the market even big enough to support a special line of women’s products? Or is the market there but not sufficiently supported by the cycling industry?
What do you think?
