You cannot deny that these weapons exist. You cannot deny that there is presently no manufacturing capability within Iraq able to produce those kinds of weapons.
In November (2006), U.S. troops raiding a Baghdad machine shop came across a pile of copper disks, 5 inches in diameter, stamped out as part of what was clearly an ongoing order. This ominous discovery, unreported until now, makes it clear that Iraqi insurgents have no need to rely on Iran as the source of EFPs.
The truth is that EFPs are simple to make for anyone who knows how to do it. Far from a sophisticated assembly operation that might require state supervision, all that is required is one of those disks, some high-powered explosive (which is easy to procure in Iraq) and a container, such as a piece of pipe.
Iraq was not a threat to U.S. security until the Bush Administration used bullshit intelligence to justify putting our troops on the ground. Now that we are there and our troops are suffering, who does the Administration want to hold accountable?
The press seems to be willing to accept the same bullshit intelligence about Iran as it did about Iraq. Ready for more war?
Meanwhile, funding to attack U.S. troops is coming from Saudi Arabia. These funds are routed to Suuni Iraqis who account for 90% of the attacks on our soldiers. So the next bogus war trumped up by the Bush Administration will be fought under the pretenses of protecting our troops from a country that is responsible for, at most, only 8% of U.S. fatalities.
