“Where hacks come to spew nonsense” – B2B
CBS polls President Bush at 30% overall job approval and 23% approval for Iraq.
I was reading some dumb post on some blog the other day and was thinking about making a comment, but could not figure out what I wanted to say. If I wrote what I was actually thinking then it would probably turn into some kind of big “to do” with hurt feelings and uncomfortable explanations and such and such. God, I hate that. I tried to come up with some kind of watered down comment but it was pretty lame so I decided not to comment at all.
It got me thinking about creating some kind of anonymous blog where anyone could register and post, but the posts would be without any credit. It would be a kind of open forum where people could state whatever they feel they had to say about whatever, but without any real consequence to themselves. I foresaw hundreds of bloggers registering and just airing out what was on their minds and hundreds more reading these thoughts everyday. I was going to ask you guys what you thought of this idea and maybe even host the whole thing on my domain.
Shortly after coming up with this super fantastic idea I started thinking that if you don’t have the guts to put your name on your post and back up what you have to say to the whole world, then you should just keep your big fat mouth shut. I can just see the whole thing devolve into a bunch of lame-o name calling and moronic innuendo.
So screw you guys, I am going to scrap this whole anonymous blog idea. Man-up and defend what you have to say to everyone who might hear it or just keep your big fat mouth shut.
I am not going to enable gutless cowardice, especially my own.

The latest issue of ProCycling magazine is devoted to climbing.
One of the articles interviews two of the “best pure climbers of their respective eras,” Andy Hampsten and Tom Danielson.
WTF!?
OK, I can see Hampsten.
– At 23 years old he won a stage in the Giro d’Italia
– At 24 he won the Tour of Switzerland and was 4th overall in the Tour de France
– At 25 he won the Tour of Switzerland again
– At 26 he won the overall at the Giro d’Italia as well as the mountains classification
– At 28 he was 3rd overall in the Tour of Switzerland
– At 29 he was again 3rd overall in the Tour of Switzerland as well as the mountains classification
– At 30 he was 4th overall in the Tour de France and won the stage to Alpe d’Huez.
Not bad. Although I would suggest that Hampsten winning the 1988 Giro was more about his tolerating the weather rather than being due to his climbing ability. But his victories in the mountains classifications at the Giro and the Tour of Switzerland certainly qualify him as a great climber.
But Danielson?
– At 24 he won the Mount Washington hill climb in New Hampshire
– At 25 he won the Tour of Langkawi as well as some domestic stage races
– At 26 he won the Mount Evans hill climb in Colorado
– At 27 he won the Tour of Georgia
– At 28 he was second overall in the Tour of Georgia, won the Tour of Austria and a won stage in the Vuelta a España
Best pure climbers of his era? Are you kidding me? His results are bereft of any real international climbing success and the guy is almost 30 years old. I have said it before, but if Danielson was going to show himself as the next great American hope he would have done it by now.
This guy is totally over rated and this article in ProCycling just contributes to his unwarranted reputation.
By the way, this is what a real pure climber looks like:
The best time to take a dump in your pants is immediately after someone put a new diaper on you.
