I should not have to post this, but I do have to post this.
You can comment with your name, you can comment with a knickname, you can comment anonymously.
Don’t comment using someone else’s recognized name or knickname. It’s totally lame.
When I find this happeneing I will delete the comment. If it happens again I will ban the offender.
Don’t be totally lame.

UPDATE 12/20/06 8:21pm – Feel free to comment as whom ever you wish under this post. Knock yourself out, get it out of your system then don’t do it again.
Why is the Kowalski’s parking lot full of old woman trying to run me down with their huge cars?
Is there some “bad parking” convention going on in South Minneapolis?

Regarding the NVGP discussion, Timmer asks:
why don’t you’all post your comments on the MCF site? that’s why it’s there.
Is it? I’m not so sure.
At the last NSC Velodrome meeting Bob commented that some of the posts on the MCF Message Board were not making the local cycling community look to good. So maybe a discussion of what the MCF Board should be used for is necessary.
I certainly don’t want to start a discussion, that might turn into a fight, on a public forum like the MCF Board if this site is being read by those outside the cycling community. Especially if the site is being read by potential sponsors. Better to start these kinds of discussions on a personal site like mine where those that are reading already know what they are in for and I have total control of the comments.
Plus, my hit count does not go up as much when I post on the MCF site versus my site.
So what should the MCF Message Board be used for? Should this conversation be on the MCF Message Board? Should there even be a MCF Message Board?
The state’s school administrators want to lengthen the school year by anywhere from five to eight days. And some of those days could come out of vacations during the school year.
The proposal, announced Tuesday by the Minnesota Association of School Administrators, calls for 180 instructional school days per year. That’s the number of days students are in class.
The current average in Minnesota is between 172 and 175 actual school days.
This is much more modest than the association’s recommendation last year to go up to 200 days, which would have amounted to five more weeks of school. That proposal was roundly criticized by students and got nowhere in last year’s Legislature.
Criticized by students? What a surprise. Who cares what they think? Pile on the school days as far as I am concerned.
Here is some math that I learned in school:
365 days per year, subtract 104 days for weekends, subtract 40 days to give two weeks off for fall/winter/spring/summer breaks and that makes for a 221 day school year. Compare that kind of schedule with your current work and vacation schedule. Pretty generous huh?
The current Minnesota average is only slightly more than 75% of that. Get those kids back in class!
I think if the kids attended school all year long it would prevent the loss of learning skills that inevitably happens during a three month summer break. Plus life would be a lot easier for parents who don’t have to try and figure out what to do with their kids for the summer while they are out of school.
I’m not saying that kids should sit in a classroom all that time. There are plenty of educational non-classroom stuff that kids could do for a semester. But having them sit around the house and play with the PS3 all summer is not going to do much for them.
Tuffy will now educate me as to why I am all wrong wrong wrong.
