A Dancing Classic
Wednesday, October 18th, 2006This is my very favorite video that got passed around the web. It says so much to me about people, this world, our cultures, and our weirdness and joy. The unadulterated passion of this dude is so great that it makes me smile and laugh every time I see it. I don’t know who he is, where he is, or what the hell he is doing other than having fun. And that is all that really matters anyway. I just think it’s amazing that some guy somewhere in Europe or wherever can put this thing together with his goofy friends and send it all over the world. Speaking as someone who is very much not a natural at the whole web technology thing, I love this stuff. It makes me feel connected to the world in a way that is almost impossible without this little thing called the Internet. Think about it: this guy did this in his room and now we are watching it across the globe. I don’t care if you like it or not, or if you think he is a crappy dancer or if you hate the music or what, because that is not the point. In this world, now more than ever, we need to feel connected to our neighbor across the street and across the ocean. This video does that for me. I love it.
