I like Dave Towle.
I know a bit of his background before he became a famous race announcer and I know that he worked hard to get to where he is in cycling. His work gets better and better each year and he is obviously enthusiastic about the sport and he conveys that when he MC’s a race. He did a good job at Nature Valley.
I don’t like Jeff Roake. He yelled at me when I was the car official for the Kenwood Criterium back in 1990. Screw that guy, I don’t need that crap.
Yes, I am holding a grudge for 16 years.

Sheesh, I never said the announcing sucked. I thought the race sucked.
For those of you out there who come across my site, please keep in mind:
• No one else reads this site
• No one else is interested in the slightest at what I think or say
• I am cynical, jaded and bitter about most things
• Everyone who knows me knows that I am full of crap
So please don’t be offended, because no one else even noticed.

Newsweek’s Fareed Zakaria:
Iraq is now in a civil war. Thirty thousand Iraqis have died there in the past three years, more than in many other conflicts widely recognized as civil wars. The number of internal refugees, mostly Sunni victims of ethnic cleansing, has exploded over the past few months, and now exceeds a quarter of a million people. (The Iraqi government says 240,000, but this doesn’t include Iraqis who have fled abroad or who may not have registered their move with the government.) The number of attacks on Shiite mosques increases every week: there have been 69 such attacks since February, compared with 80 in the previous two and a half years. And the war is being fought on gruesome new fronts. CBS News’s Lara Logan has filed astonishing reports on the Health Ministry, which is run by supporters of radical cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. According to Logan, hospitals in Baghdad and Karbala are systematically killing Sunni patients and then dumping their bodies in mass graves.
Everything that President Bush said would happen if we pulled out of Iraq is already happening.
