MPR:

…if you run the CD in your personal computer, by the end of it, the Minnesota GOP will not only know what you think on particular issues, but also who you are.

Got the CD yet?

Washington Post’s Richard Cohen:
Would that anyone could say the same about many of the deal’s critics. Whatever their concerns may be, whatever their fears, they would not have had them, expressed them or seen them in print had the middle name of the United Arab Emirates been something else.

Gee, I wonder why it would be that people might be concerned, not only about the middle name, but the entire name of the country United Arab Emirates? Maybe because the company that is going to operate the ports is OWNED by the government of the United Arab Emirates and maybe because…

Al Qaeda warned the government of the United Arab Emirates more than three years ago that it “infiltrated” key government agencies, according to a disturbing document released by the U.S. military. – New York Post

Cohen wants to attribute some kind of great nobility to President Bush, portraying him as taking a stand against the xenophobic and isolationist racists within the United States. If Cohen would take the time to pull his head out of his ass before writing his usual lame excuse of a column he might see that the President’s motivation is money and political payback and this deal might not be the best move for U.S. security interests.

For the record, I am against any company that is owned and operated by a foreign government, controlling our sea ports, or airports or rail hubs or any area of national security concern. The British company that sold out to the UAE was not owned by the British government. Is it too much to ask that Cohen do just a few minutes of home work before sitting down to bang out his ham-fisted homage to President Worthless?
