So it’s 45°F in Minneapolis right now. Sun is shining. Beautiful day. Streets are drying out, the road beckons for a ride. I would normally be itching to go out for a phat ride right now but I can’t be too upset about it.
Next Wednesday I will be heading down to Mobile Alabama for a week. It’s been in the 60’s and 70’s down there for the last couple of weeks. I am hoping that my usual luck does not hold. Typically when I travel someplace nice and bring my bicycle it ends up being cold and raining the entire time.

Today Show:

COURIC: Hey, wait a second. Democrats took — Democrats took money from Abramoff too, Mr. Dean.

DEAN: That is absolutely false. That did not happen. Not one dime of money from Jack Abramoff went to any Democrat at any time.

Does the media have an obligation to report the truth or do they feel like they are doing their job when they vomit up GOP talking points?

Worthless media strikes again.

President Bush today:

The FISA law was written in 1978. We’re having this discussion in 2006. It’s a different world. And FISA is still an important tool. It’s an important tool. And we still use that tool. But also — and we — look — I said, look, is it possible to conduct this program under the old law? And people said, it doesn’t work in order to be able to do the job we expect us to do.

The US Constitution was written in 1787. We are having this discussion in 2006. It’s a different world. So if the President wants engage in an activity that is unconstitutional or federal law prohibits he is just going to do it anyway. There is no reason to bother with trying to change the law because if the President does it, it’s legal.
