Via Powerline:
The media feeding frenzy will, indeed, be massive. But absent a serious claim of a statutory violation or perjury, it’s questionable whether anyone apart from liberal bloggers and other pre-existing Bush haters will partake in the media’s dog food. This isn’t a top presidential aide accepting an expensive gift, or engaging in lewd sexual conduct. It’s a top aide providing truthful information to journalists in response to lies told to embarrass the administration and our government.
How easy it is for Republicans to justify illegal behavior.

I is confused, part three.
When presented with the following question: “Why don’t US forces seal off the Iraqi border to keep foreign terrorists out and thereby help the Iraqi’s by reducing the threat of terrorism?” conservatives reply:
“Hey, we can even seal the borders of our own country.”
How does that reply answer the original question and why do conservatives think they have made some kind of intelligent point by making this reply?

I is confused, part two.

IRAQ’S former interim prime minister Iyad Allawi is warning that his country is facing civil war and is predicting dire consequences for Europe and America as well as the Middle East if the crisis is not resolved.

“The problem is that the Americans have no vision and no clear policy on how to go about in Iraq. The policy should be of building national unity in Iraq. Without this we will most certainly slip into a civil war. We are practically in stage one of a civil war as we speak.”

Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, et all, have been telling us that those fighting US troops and the Iraqi police force are not insurgents but, instead, terrorists that have infiltrated Iraq from Iran, Syria and Saudi Arabia.

In order for Iraq to dissolve into civil war it would have to be Iraqi’s doing the fighting. Are the Iraqis with us or against us? Can someone straighten this out?

I is confused.

The theory is that we are in Iraq fighting the terrorists so we don’t have to fight them here in the USA.

How is Iraq supposed to become the shining beacon of democracy in the Middle East when it is instead the focal point for terrorists? How can the Iraqis be expected to take control of their country and let the democratic process take hold when they are constantly under attack?

Can someone explain this to me?
